The first step to introducing your business to the public
is the ability to be able to introduce yourself and your business within 30 to
60 seconds or less, in one or two sentences, in a very concise way.That is to
say,you need to have a very efficient elevator pitch in a flash, at a moment's
notice.
An elevator pitch is a short
powerful presentation that introduces both you and your business, its vision
and mission thus creating lasting impression on your listener. This focuses on
what you provide and can be delivered within 30 to 60 seconds or less,
even in an elevator, hence the name, Elevator Pitch.
You have to always bear the fact that in mind, your clients
main concern is , " what benefit will i receive when i buy your
product or services?" So when you prepare you elevator pitch always make
sure that your audience needs to answer this question: "What is in
it for me?" Also note that people are more interested on how you can help
them compared with what you do or how they can help you.
The following are the steps you need to follow
1. Title
You should consider creating a title that summarizes your
business idea or purpose.This title ideally should not be more than ten words.
2. Introduction
Your business should be introduced with a general
description of your product or services. Highlight where you are located and
what you are offering
3. Who do you plan to serve?
Discuss the people who you plan to serve with your new
company. Who is the target market and why did you choose to servs this market?
Make sure that anyone who reads this introduction to your company will clearly
understand the purpose of your company.
4. Who is the Owner of the Company?
identify the owner of the company and give some background
information regarding how you came to start this new business. If there is an
interesting story, add that to the release.
5. What is your contact information
Include contact information for someone at your business
who will act as a PRO a Public Relations Officer for the company
including name, phone number and email address.
This persons will handle calls and emails from the media
and the general public regarding your business
